Throughout her career as a mathematician Sonya J. Snedecor, PhD has witnessed countless scientific presentations that failed to resonate with their intended audiences. Too often, talented scientists were underappreciated—not because of their work’s quality, but because they struggled to communicate its importance.

After earning a BA in Mathematics from Hampton University and a PhD in Biomathematics from UCLA, she transitioned into Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) consulting. Over the next 17 years, she collaborated with pharmaceutical manufacturers to demonstrate the value of their products to healthcare payers around the world.

During this time, Sonya became known for her ability to distill complex analyses into clear messages that connected with diverse audiences—from researchers to business executives. Though client presentations and mentoring colleagues, she honed the art of communicating science with clarity and simplicity.

Now, as the founder and Chief Simplicity Officer of Science Clarity, Sonya applies her technical expertise and two decades of experience mentoring experience to a new mission: empowering scientists to make an impression with their work and gain the recognition they deserve.
